FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DIGI-NET RELEASES DIGICHAT V2.0.1
GAINESVILLE, FL, May 17, 2000 Digi-Net Technologies, creator of community-building B2B and B2C messaging software, announces the release of DigiChat v2.0. This release marks the latest major upgrade to the highly popular DigiChat Java-based chat server. Building upon the success of its predecessor, DigiChat v2.0 remains easy to install and manage, but now boasts many compelling enhancements that place it among the most powerful community-building e-business tools available to the Webmaster. DigiChat v2.0 was specifically designed to address many of the e-commerce challenges faced by ISPs, call centers and managers of real-time, interactive business and consumer-based Web sites. DigiChat is being used by organizations, clubs and businesses alike for building loyalty and repeat visitation.
Enabling hundreds of simultaneous chat rooms and thousands of concurrently connected users, DigiChats Java heritage allows it to be seamlessly installed on any platform (Solaris, UNIX, WindowsNT/9x, Mac, Linux, etc.), Additionally, DigiChat's intuitive graphical interface makes it very easy to use and manage for both the site administrator and the chat user.
These features are now enhanced with the ability to provide the interface in German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. "Although English is a standard business language, many market are interested in a localized version of the product that supports their native language," said Digi-Net President Robert Parker. "Now DigiChat supports six languages and we will continue to add others."
Whats more, the addition of the DC Commander application brings an unprecedented level of administrative control, site awareness and marketing flexibility simply not available in competitive offerings. This remarkable innovation gives chat site administrators ultimate control and monitoring capability, including:
Ability to send live broadcast messages to unlimited or select chat room participants based on issues they are discussing and database information.
Another advancement which Unix users will be pleased to see is that v2.0 of DigiChat streamlines and updates the installation process. A graphical installer now automatically generates startup scripts for UNIX-type platforms and automatically installs DigiChat as a service on Windows NT. Installation packages are also available with and without the appropriate Java Virtual Machine, reducing download time.
"We have gone to great lengths to make sure DigiChat is attractive, fun and easy to navigate, whether you understand computers or not," says Parker. "DigiChat is a very powerful Web application that allows you to build a cohesive community whether you are a small Web business, organization or large Web portal," he adds. "That is a priority on today's Web sites. When people feel they are part of a community, they keep coming back."
