FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DIGI-NET RELEASES DIGIPOSTS
Only bulletin board software to integrate full mailing list capabilities with a web-based bulletin board
GAINESVILLE, FL, July 10, 2002 – Digi-Net Technologies, Inc., a leader in real-time messaging technology for e-commerce and community building applications, today announced the release of DigiPosts™.
DigiPosts is the first software product to take the two most popular Internet communication motifs: the Web and electronic mail and combine them to allow people to collaborate and interact seamlessly through either medium. With full web-based message board and integrated mailing list capabilities, DigiPosts can be used in corporate intranets, extranets or anywhere where groups with similar interests need to communicate and interact regardless of platform or available access tools.
“We developed DigiPosts to serve as the foundation to connect and strengthen the power of our community building software suite,” said Robert Parker, President and CEO of Digi-Net. “The DigiPosts software integrates seamlessly with DigiChat and the Hubz Instant Messaging software to create a complete and powerful online community package.”
Ensemble™ (Unique Customizable Interface) – DigiPosts features a totally customizable, graphical, three-paned interface designed to mimic many e-mail programs.
Envoy™ (Mailing List) – DigiPosts has integrated full mailing list capabilities with a web-based bulletin board, which allows users to post messages via the web-based interface while other members can view and participate via e-mail.
Community Software Integration – DigiPosts is the only message board software available specifically designed to integrate with industry leading chat software – DigiChat.
Built-in Membership Database and Login System – DigiPosts automatically manages the entire community through a built-in membership database. Users have the ability to login once and have access to other community offerings such as chat.
File Transfer Support – DigiPosts allows users to attach a file to any message post.
Bulletin board software can best be described as an electronic message center. It is a place where people with common interests can discuss and exchange ideas in an online forum. Unlike chat, where participants share space in a real-time dialogue, bulletin boards offer users the opportunity to collaborate and share ideas in a linear, asynchronous forum. The first bulletin board program was written in 1978 and its popularity grew exponentially with more than 25 millions users by 2000.
“The number of users will continue to increase as computers and the Internet become more popular and more entrenched in our society,” said Parker. “We are confident that DigiPosts will be a market leader in the bulletin board software market.”
